Terms and conditions

GENERAL TERMS


  • Our sessions run for 10 weeks each term on Weekdays and on Saturdays.
  • We do not tutor on Public Holidays unless the tutor and parents agree. Any sessions that fall on a public holiday will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
  • If your tutor does not arrive at the lesson at the agreed time, please express your concern to our admin team via text or email 


PAYMENT POLICY


  • The fee includes all materials and there is no enrolment fee. GST of 10% will be charged on the tuition fee 
  • The fee should be paid in advance before the beginning of the term by the due date mentioned on the invoice.
  • If a full term is paid in advance, a sibling discount is available. For the Per Term discount to be applied, all enrolled students' payments must be made by the final week of the preceding school term. 
  • In case you want to pay in installments, you can pay in 2 equal installments - 


  1. First installment of 50% before the beginning of the term
  2. Second installment of 50% before beginning of 5th week from start of the term


  • Payments should be made to the bank account mentioned on the Invoice.


CANCELLATION POLICY


  • To guarantee a high-quality learning experience for our students, our tutoring facility places a high priority on efficiently managing our lesson plans. Hence it is important for students to attend the classes as per their schedule. However, in event of unavoidable situation where student is not able to attend the scheduled class, there is an option to avail catch up class for a maximum of 2 missed/cancelled classes per term.
  • To cancel a scheduled class in an event of unavoidable circumstances and book a slot for catch-up class, please inform at least six hours in advance before the start of the class. You can do this by text or email. Please do not call. 
  • In case you miss to inform about cancellation at least six hours in advance before the start of the class, the class would be cancelled and is not eligible for any refund or catch-up class.
  • Any catch-up classes against absence on scheduled date in a term should be availed in the same term only on 2nd and 4th Saturday of a month between 9 am to 12 pm. The missed classes for the term won't be refunded or carried forward. 
  • Please be advised that cancellations are not eligible for refunds.
  • We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in adhering to our cancellation policy. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.


RESCHEDULE POLICY


  • For each full -term package, we allow two classes to be rescheduled which can be booked in the same term only on 2nd and 4th Saturday of a month between 9 am to 12 pm.
  • The tutors at Sydney Tutoring Academy have busy schedules to maintain; however, they will ensure that your lesson time is kept free from week to week. In the event that a tutor cannot make it to a scheduled lesson due to misadventure or other unforeseeable circumstances, an appropriate substitute tutor will be allocated, or the lesson will be rescheduled in the same term on a date/time suitable to the student and the tutor. If this cannot be arranged, the lesson will be rescheduled in the term-break holidays. 
  • Group lessons with more than one student follow the same cancellation and rescheduling policies listed above.


REFUND POLICY

   

  • Cancellations due to change of mind will not be refunded but instead given a credit of use. We will credit you the amount of remaining lessons, toward future lessons on case-to-case basis.
  • Cash/monetary refunds for change of mind WILL NOT be honored as per consumer law:

   

                       " A business can refuse to give you a free repair, replacement or refund if: you simply changed your mind (No longer want           tutoring); you misused the product or service in a way that contributed to the problem (Did not follow tutors advice); you asked for a service to be done in a certain way against the advice of the business (Was suggested you do certain things or don't sit the test but do so anyways), or were unclear about what you wanted." 


SICKNESS POLICY

   

  • Due to Covid-19 and Influenza outbreaks, we request that if your child has a runny nose, cough, or high temperature, please DO NOT bring them to tuition. The session can either be conducted online at the same time as the scheduled session or made up at a later date during the term or following school holidays.
  • In the event that your child is ill and turns up for face-to-face tuition, they are required to wear a face mask.
  • Should your child develop any of these symptoms during the session, they will be given a face mask and asked to wait whilst we contact you to come and collect them. The remainder of the session will be offered as a make-up session at a later date.


TECHNICAL POLICY

   

  • Sydney Tutoring Academy Support is not liable for any technical problems during online lessons that are out of our control. Please ensure that your internet software is updated and the connection works efficiently. 
  • Our tutors will ensure they have a strong internet connection and can be heard and seen clearly. Students are encouraged to do the same before the lesson begins. If the tutor has technical difficulties, the time will be logged, and we will offer the missed time as credit for future lessons. 


FEE INCREASES 


  • We may occasionally raise fees without prior notice due to rising operating expenses. The fee increase will take effect a full term following the increase for enrolled students. For instance, fees will only go up in term 4 if they are raised at the beginning of term 3.
