The months leading up to the HSC can be an emotional rollercoaster. Looking after how you feel is just as important as what you know.
Name it to tame it
Simply acknowledging "I feel overwhelmed right now" reduces its intensity. Bottling emotions tends to make them louder.
Protect your routine
Regular sleep, meals and movement stabilise mood far more than most students expect. Don't trade them away for extra cramming.
Talk to someone
Parents, friends, tutors — sharing the load helps. At STA, our mentors check in on how students are coping, not just how they're scoring.
Keep perspective
The HSC is important, but it is one milestone among many. There are multiple pathways to every goal. Doing your best is enough.
